Oracle’s partnership with Red Hat provides additional support for customers running RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) on OCI. This partnership enables customers to run supported versions of RHEL on different processor architectures (Intel, AMD, or Arm), while still maintaining access to Red Hat’s support system and knowledge base through their RHEL subscription.

From the OS offering point of view OCI provides wide variety of OS and also with the option of BYOI – Bring your Own Image, which gives them more flexibility in terms of the operating systems they can use.

Here are Oracle and RHEL Partnership highlights :

  • Oracle’s partnership with Red Hat
  • Run latest version of RHEL 7, 8, and 9 on OCI Virtual Machines
  • OCI is now a member of Red Hat’s Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) program
  • RHEL on your choice of Intel, AMD, or Arm processors 
  • Support for custom images, which you can build with RHEL’s custom image builder
  • Imported RHEL images operate under the Bring Your Own Subscription (BYOS) model from Red Hat
  • Bring your own subscription is the model for RHEL on OCI.
  • OCI charges for the infrastructure that you run RHEL 
  • Collaborative support – RHEL and OCI
